I used to think death was distant till I experienced the loss of someone firsthand.
Not like I've not lost relatives before then but it didn't really hit me till my friend died. I saw him on the same day he died only for me to get home in the evening and I started seeing posts about his death on other people's status.
My friend told me he would text me later in the evening but he never did.
It was at that moment I knew that death is truly not far. It's crazy to think about it.
