Finally, I have one semester left at this university.

Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife.

I remember six years ago when I gained admission to this university. I was the happiest. I started a countdown until the day I left my parents house.

Aside the fact that I didn’t like the course I was going to be studying (even though I picked it with my two hands), I was content with the fact that I’d be leaving home. That was enough. I was tired of staying at home already, and my mom had also told me that once I didn’t gain admission that year, I should be ready to find another house to live in.

I gained admission in October 2018 on the merit list, and I had to wait until March 2019 before resuming. Anticipation wanted to kill me, Mehn.

After my first semester at this school, I started counting my eggs before they hatched. I thought I’d be graduating in 2022.

2022??? Don’t count your eggs before they hatch, kids. lol

It’s finally my last semester at this school, and I can’t lie, I’m not even excited. I just want to leave. I can’t believe I was looking forward to coming here, and now I’m looking forward to leaving. I just want to graduate and leave this town.

ASUU, COVID, a slow school calendar, and an internal strike have made me lost all the vibes about school. Can we just wrap it up already??

I’ve started another countdown, and this time it’s a countdown for when I’ll be writing my final exams. I can’t wait to leaveeeeeeeeee!!

Anyway, I’ll be sharing some of my university stories. The people I met, the decisions I took, the friends I made, the lecturers I hate, the happy times, the “I want to drop out moments”, etc. Maybe I should make it a series? Let me go and think of a title.
